Safe, Toxin-Free Products
We love The Grove Collaborative. As they say, "We don’t just test every product we sell, we scrutinize its ingredients and supply chain to ensure it does its job, and more, to earn its place on your shelf."
Our founder is obsessed with The Berkey. The Berkey Water Filter can remove hundreds of contaminants such as viruses, bacteria, cysts, parasites, pesticides, chlorine, fluoride, VOC's and more from the water and purify more than any other gravity filters available!
Health & Beauty
Sleep is a critical component to staying healthy. Working long days and late nights, these blue light glasses have been a life saver (so has changing settings on all electronics to warm light in evening hours)!
Trying to look nice while raising a child and running a start-up leaves little time for at-home blowouts...or any hair care. Hairstory transformed our founder from planning around hair wash days to "wash n go."
Our Founder's Bookshelf
The following have been read and endorsed by our founder.
Written by Nicole Jardim, the period expert, this book offers a step-by-step natural protocol to build lasting hormone balance and improve everything from PMS, period pain, and heavy periods to irregular cycles and missing periods.
Written by Aimee Raupp (check out our podcast interview!), it provides guidance on the Autoimmune Protocol Diet (AIP). Most important is all the data she presents up front about autoimmune conditions. We support reading this given our personal experience on autoimmune conditions and their impact on fertility.
Written by Lara Briden, a naturopathic doctor with more than twenty years experience, is a compilation of everything that works for hormonal health. It contains advice and tips for women of every age and situation, including how to come off hormonal birth control, what your period should be like, what can go wrong, how to talk to your doctor, and treatment protocols for all common period problems, including PCOS and endometriosis.
Written by Toni Weschler, this is the one book everyone should have for learning the basics of how your body works. This is quite helpful even if you are not trying to conceive.
Written by Jill Blakeway of the Yinova Center in New York City and co-authored by Dr Sami David, this provides guidance on Eastern and Western Medicine practices to optimize your fertility. The book provides several patient examples to bring their suggestions to life.
Written by Rebecca Fett, this has become an incredibly popular book to optimize one's egg quality. She provides a 90-day plan and helpful information on the benefit for each of her suggestions. There is also a Facebook Group you can join to share your stories.
Dr Alyson McGregor (check out her TED Talk! and our podcast interview) tackles one of the most urgent, yet unspoken issues facing women's health care today: all models of medical research and practice are based on male-centric models that ignore the unique biological and emotional differences between men and women -- an omission that can endanger women's lives.
Maya Dusenbery brings together scientific and sociological research, interviews with doctors and researchers, and personal stories from women across the country to provide the first comprehensive, accessible look at how sexism in medicine harms women today.
Written by Randine Lewis, who trained as an OB/GYN and in Chinese Medicine. It offers incredible perspective on Eastern and Western Medicine practices for fertility. We recommend going to an acupuncturist specializing in infertility, but this book will provide you the necessary background.
Written by Dr Lora Shahine, this book provides everything you need to know about miscarriages. Many women provide reviews that this is the information they wish they had. Dr Shahine explains what is known about miscarriages, what is not known, what doctors disagree on, and what you can do for you.
Written by Dr Carissa, this book is inspired by the successful protocol developed by the author in her private practice to help menopausal women manage their symptoms naturally. So if your menopaused body has stopped responding to diets and exercise and everybody is telling you that... "It's normal"... this easy-to-read book is for you.
Written by Shirley Weir of Menopause Chicks, this book is for women who want to avoid the overwhelming task of sorting through all the myths and misconceptions of perimenopause & menopause in order to be proactive with their midlife health.
